For The Chop

Friends... I offer you this sage advice.

NEVER say to your hairdresser, "Yeah, I'm a bit bored with my hair, I want it to be a bit more, y'know, funky. Edgy."

Because the result is THIS:

I'm pretty sure my expression says it all, right?

I hesitate to say 'Worst. Haircut. Ever' because I know for a fact there are three people past and present with worse haircuts than this; unfortunately, one of them was also me after a similarly ill-advised carte-blanche-giving episode as a naive teenager. Seriously, I know directional pageboys are all the rage now, but don't give a girl with big glasses permanently glued to her conk one! I look... so silly. Sob.

Also, it looks like my skin is bad here but actually it's just bits of loose hair and random sticky-out ends. Usually I ask my hairdresser to leave my hair textured, and invariably leave with it ironed and plastered down with product. Today I asked for it smooth... and got textured.

I walked home feeling that everyone was laughing at me, so please excuse me as now I have to go and die... ahem, sorry, dye. Perhaps some colour will make this monstrosity acceptable...

THE EDIT: DRAMA OVER!!!
Also Subtitled: The Fattest Flapper

WEll, a dye job does appear to have done me some good, because I no longer feel like committing seppuku. I dug out my old contact lenses too. I might need to invest in some for actually wearing (the scrip on these is wrong) although they might not ever replace my glasses for everyday wear.

Onto the photos!

Hurrah, I can dress up as Disney Snow White for Hallowe'en.

I feel happier than I evidently look. It has got a sort of twenties-ish thing going on, not that I would have been in any way an acceptable specimen of femininity back then.

So there you have it. Hair disaster averted by way of a £4.50 box of hair dye, an inexpert blow-dry, and a ton of kohl eyeliner.

Clearly you just have more skill than the hairdresser. Sorry it took a while to get there but glad you like it now. I think the darker shade really suits you. Gives you really strong features. x

Fabulous! I had a disasterous fringe cut many moons ago which made me look like a serial killer but yours looks fabulous and extremely glam. xxx

I rather liked the first photo but the dye job and the happier face in the second set of pics makes all the difference :) You look super glam with the smoky eyes and that fab dark lippy.

Good thing about hair is that it grows! So cheer up, soon you'll have it long again! :)
